The Global Bach Community

Dedicated to linking and supporting local Bach organizations worldwide.

Background

In the late 1990s, The Bach Festival of Philadelphia's web site emerged as a central resource for Bach organizations worldwide. We recognized that there is a natural sense of community among Bach lovers, based on shared spiritual and aesthetic values expressed in Bach's music. This naturally existing community represents an enormous potential for good, both for individuals and groups, and as a model of global community. It was thus our aim to realize this potential in The Global Bach Community and its communication arm, Bach-net.org.

Mission Statement

  • To recognize and foster the common spirit that exists universally among Bach lovers.

  • To facilitate Bach-centered endeavors worldwide - musical, educational, social and spiritual.

  • To help the Bach community to flourish, in part through the ability to raise funds not ordinarily available to individual Bach organizations.
